Who We Are
Ho-Chunk Construction Group is a federal contracting division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., the award-winning economic development corporation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. Ho-Chunk, Inc.’s mission is to provide long-term economic development for the Winnebago Tribe and job opportunities for Tribal members.
HCI Construction was launched in 1999 to provide needed housing on the Winnebago Reservation and to offer general contracting and construction services to organizations throughout the region. The Ho-Chunk Construction Group is headquartered on the Winnebago Reservation with offices in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
The traditional name for the Winnebago people is Hochungra, often shortened to Ho-Chunk. Our name is: “The People, Incorporated.”

Safety
We Thrive on a Zero-Incident Culture
On-site safety is paramount to our company. We continuously train our employees through safety meetings, OSHA 10-HR and 30-HR courses, First Aid/CPR Training, and a variety of task-specific training. The majority of our team is OSHA 30-HR trained and we train our subcontractors through our mandatory jobsite Safety Orientation Program and Safety Meetings during which site and project-specific hazards are always a topic of discussion. Ho-Chunk Construction Group is committed to our employees by implementing our Health and Safety Procedures and put safe work practices into action on a daily basis.
